Excel Tech Tip – Editing directly in a cell

If you’re like me, you enjoy being able to double click a cell within excel and edit directly there rather than having to edit in the formula bar. See simple instructions below to turn on editing directly in cells.

Step 1: click File and Options

Step 2:          Click ‘Advanced’, and check the box next to ‘Allow editing directly in cells’

Step 3: Enjoy!

Note: a shortcut to edit the cell is key ‘F2’

Word Review Pane Font Size

Tech Tip: Word Review Pane Font Size

Ever have trouble seeing the text inside your comment bubbles in your word documents?

Chances are the font size is set to 1. Here’s how to fix it:

To modify the style used in the comment balloon's:
1. Open the Styles Pane by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Shift-S
2. Click on the Manage Styles button in the bottom of that pane
3. In the Manage Styles dialog > Edit tab, set the sort order to Alphabetical and select the style called Balloon Text and click the Modify button
4. Change the size to something much larger eg 8 and click OK and OK to return to the document.
